(Air Superiority)

 Base: Ysterplaat Air Force Base

Aircraft: Mirage F-1

              Sabre

Purpose: To maintain air superiority in all defensive and offensive situations. Protecting the coastal areas of the Southern African Coast. 

Qualifications required for this squadron: Completed Central Flying School Course. 85 Combat Flying School Course.10 Hours on either the 2 aircraft with a evaluation flight. You can be nominated by Air Command to join the squadron, but still need to complete the necessary qualifying courses.

 2nd Squadron (Flying Cheetah's)

(Air Superiority)

 Base: Makhado Air Force Base (Fighter Town SA)

Aircraft: Gripen C

              Gripen D

              Cheetah C

              Cheetah D

Purpose: To maintain air superiority in all defensive and offensive situations. Protecting the northern borders of South Africa. Deploy anywhere nationally and internationally. 

Qualifications required for this squadron: Completed Central Flying School Course. 85 Combat Flying School Course.10 Hours on either the 4 aircraft with a evaluation flight. You can be nominated by Air Command to join the squadron, but still need to complete the necessary qualifying courses.
